Going... going... still here?

Well out of a bit of boredom I've decided to write about not much.

I've spent the last week or so seriously preparing for what is drawing nearer every day... moving from Toronto back to Grand Forks. Moving is never easy, but it's even less "easy" moving across the country. Not that I'm complaining - I quite enjoy the challenge of reducing my belongings into as few bags and boxes as possible! It's extremely liberating, but I still find myself experiencing separation anxiety from such sweet belongings I've grown accustomed to over the last few months and years... ie: my lovely high thread count sheets and most comfortable pillows ever, fun plates and bowls from IKEA, wooden bed side table, swiffer... you get the idea. There are two things I've kept though - my Ziploc zipper seal bags and my non-stick frying pan. YES. Jasmine has been a bit confused and upset by this whole ordeal - she's been tooting something terrible for the past several days and just not completely "right" inside - any dog owners know what I'm talking about. Poor thing. She's pretty tough though - she can roll with the punches! I've spent my days getting as much done as I can - plugging along with the packing. Greyhound is coming tomorrow to get all my stuff to ship back. I'll have 2 suitcases and 2 carry ons for when I'm in Barrie for the next 3 weeks before I fly home, and fortunately a friend is taking all my kitchen stuff as she is getting her own place March 1st so it works out great! Sometimes things are just meant to happen. :)

My Mum has just bought a webcam so we're going to test it out tomorrow which will be fun! We've been talking on the phone every week for the last several years so this will be a neat change.

All in all, I feel good about the move. And by "the move", I mean the decision to make the move, and the move itself. I am slightly anxious because I leave Toronto for good this Friday with Katie Kirk, then head to Barrie with her to house/dog sit while she skis the slopes and shops for fine Italian shoes in Italy. Then hanging out with no real plans for the last week in "Good things grow-ow-ow, in OntariO!"

I do have one more thing to report though... Grand Forks has poker every Friday night at the GF (AWESOME!!) as well as weekly bridge, crib, and euchre! I'll be a card playing fiend!!
