Day 1: Mar 23, 1030pm

Not even a security enabled wifi signal to be found anywhere. I am
certainly suffering the effects today of technology or lack thereof.
Drove through the mountains from kelowna to grand forks with Dad and
had essentially "no signal" the entire way. Laying here now reflecting
on this makes me think that perhaps I should appreciate and revel in
the fact that I'm completely alone out here and tough to reach. I'm
just going through a bit of ontario home sickness. I have completed
leg one - I made it to grand forks. Holy shit!!! Next things on my
list, not exactly in this order: get a job(s), join the aquatic
centre, go to local bridge/crib/euchre/poker games, join grand forks
choral society again and pick up some reeds and sheet music for my
clarinet! Man all these things make me sound unbelievable cool. That
ones for you Jesse. I also want to link up with a few special people
(sister Olivia, friends al/matt/Kim). These things should all get me
in the groove and feeling settled and on track.
Hmm I have found myself using this word "get settled" a lot lately,
where in fact I have been doing quite the opposite. I've uprooted
myself and my dog from one side of Canada to the other, only to leave
everything I've grown accustomed to to go traveling in a year or so
for an undetermined amount if time. Totally exciting, but like
anything kinda crazy, you have moments of lucidity where you get a lil
freaked out.
I forgot one order of business - I have yet to collect my damn boxes
from greyhound. $270 later and I've shipped my most precious
possessions accross the country. Who knows the state things have
arrived in. Not sure how I'll pay for it yet as I haven't had a job
for 4mths but I'll find a way. I always do. Fortunately all my
suitcase stuff has been unpacked so far so I'll most likely be leaving
90% of my precious stuff shipped in boxes in boxes. Greeeeat.
Jasmine has definitely been moved to second in command here on the
farm. Maggie the 12lb manic (but sweet) Jack russel has shown jasmine
that she's the boss. For once in jasmines life, she can't walk up to a
dog and take away it's toy or chewy. She is very concerned, but
learning to deal.
One more dog note - currently there are 4 dogs living on the farm.
Jasmine, Maggie, Jock the new border collie and Ros the spanial. Soon
there will be 7. Add on a Bouvier and 2 Scottish Terriers once my Nana
is moved out of her house, and what is already quite a hilarious funny
farm will become even more hysterical! Not to say it won't be
entertaining but these dogs are all used to being inside so our small
home will be quite a zoo! Oh well, it'll be all good!
In the coming several months I am very excited to see Rebekah,
Jessica, an Sara! Roadtrip to the island for my Padi course and see
Rebekah and Jessica and roadtrip to Nelson with cousin Sara to see
cousin Rob! He said he'll jam with me! Lol poor rob - little does he
know all I want to sing is chick sings and stairway to heaven.
