Blog update July 31, 2010

11:04pm Saturday night... Just had a beer at the Station Pub with my
friend Kim. Now sitting alone in the miata waiting for Kim to restore
her energy with a 15min Qi Gong session in city park...

Today I have felt happy, liberated, energized, cleansed, renewed,
eager, anticipation, frustrated, giddy, and hopeful. I try to remain
balanced and settled with everything going on in my life right now,
but somehow the universe still knows how to mix things up.

I digress.

So my ticket to Australia is booked for March 8th, 2011. This means
I've got just over 7mths left in Grand Forks. A lot can happen in
7mths - I wonder what the future holds? Dad and Michele are going away
end of September for almost 2 months to England and South Africa so
I'll be looking after the farm again. I may have to shave down one job
or something. Not sure how that will work out!

Kim and I drank a cleansing tea this morning - lemon, Ginger and
cayenne. It felt amazing! Then we did the chores and went for a run
down to snake hole. Ashley - you would LOVE snake hole! We ran into
an eccentric old man on his way to snake hole - he gave us directions.
I asked him how he was doing he said "how do I look?" "Great!" I said.
He replies, "well what you see is what get!" Haha I gotta use that
sometime! We ran as far as the dam (which is stunning) then jogged
back to the steep decline that takes you to snake hole. It was quiet,
beautiful, and peaceful. While jogging on the path I remember dodging
tree branches and the strong smell of pine. We got to the beach and
Kim ran right in with a splash. She is a seasoned river swimmer.
However, I am not. It's been 8+years since I've swam in the river here
so I was a bit more hesitant. Nevertheless, I made my way into the
beautiful calm water and waited for my body to adjust to the
temperature. It was heaven... Then we sun bathed on the hot white sand
and I hoped my legs wouldn't be so white by the end of the day. We
walked home, ate some Saskatoon berries, I made my awesome pancakes
which we thoroughly enjoyed, and headed into town. Lobster tails on
sale at Extra Foods- check! Picked up 2! Can't wait.

Tomorrow will also be wonderful, depending on the weather. I hope to
start with more cleansing tea, go for a run and hit the river, and
cook myself a lobster dinner! Wowza!! The crazyness I get up to when I
have free days and the place to myself!

Last night I did something I've been wanting to do for a while. Kim
and I sat in the field behind my room under the night sky. It's so zen-
like there. Big moon, warm air, good friend and flowing wine makes
Nicola a happy girl! We even had a visit from Rio the last unicorn. It
was all in all a very enriching and nouturing overnight and day. I am
learning so much from Kim in the way of self healing, being in touch
with your body and mind, and flowing positive energy. Pretty cool!
