I gotta get up at 430am... damn!

1045pm. Showered, and not looking forward to my 430am wake up. Kind of hurts to type because of my barnacle-shredded finger tips, but this is faster than typing on my iPhone.

Jesse and I left Cortes Island this morning. We said our goodbyes to Rebekah and Sinan and left the cabin and yurt about 845am. Ferry was leaving at 950am. Missed the first ferry (apparently it's busy on Sundays!) so caught the 1150am ferry. -2hrs. Next stop was Quadra Island where we met up with Kim and waited for the next ferry. Should have caught the 1pm ferry, but again they were backed up. -1hr. Hopped on over to Campbell River, grabbed a bite to eat, and headed back to try and catch the 440pm out of Departure Bay, Nanaimo. While driving down the highway we see a sign stating that the next ferry available was the 905pm... sheesh - there goes that plan!!! So kind of a frustrating day up till this evening when I decided it would be best to stay the night and give'r tomorrow morning! So here I am, with Kim and still in Nanaimo at Jess and Brendan's place. It's really nice! I thought this was the best option, instead of either a) driving all night to get home b) driving half the night then camping c) arriving at my aunt and uncles close to midnight then leaving again early tomorrow morning. This seems like the best option. Anyways, I digress...

So over the last few days I've...

Smelled a lot of pine and forest
Driven hundreds of kms
Collected shells and sand dollars
Spent quality time with loved ones (Jess, Rebekah, Kim, Janet, Steve)
Bought my first pair of "skinny jeans"
Played Scrabble in a Yurt
Did "no look" drawings of Jessica's face and laughed really hard (inquire within about what these are)
Spent a night with Janet and Steve (Jess' parents). Great time, totally awesome people!
Drank a few bottles of red wine
Swam in the ocean then got cut up by barnacles
Asked for onions on my subway (yes I've very recently developed a taste for onions!)
Taken my shoes off before entering any establishment (obviously only on Cortes Island!)

And plenty more... lots of love and laughter - thanks all! Too bad I didn't have time to make it over to stay with Bob and Kathy (my aunt and uncle) but the ferrys didn't allow for it today. Nor did my planning, I suppose.

Back to work tomorrow for 2pm... I'm going to do my best to make it in time so keep your fingers crossed for me! And I won't speed or be crazy just to make up a few minutes, don't worry Mum!! xoxoxo
